I search for beauty and try to capture moments of inner peace with a sense of mystery in my artwork. I am concerned with forms, spatial and atmospheric moods, contrasts of light and dark and exploring the endless possibilities of composition.
In each of my paintings, I am trying to find the beauty in that twilight, magical, dramatic place between reality and unreality of the visual world and pursuing images that motivates my works. I am dedicated to the study of the human form and the history of traditional classical painting and drawing techniques. For me learning these techniques is an endless journey.
People always ask for my artist statement so I needed to do one but I've never liked to explain a certain piece of work.
if you've made a picture and that's how you wanted it to be - hopefully it can speak for itself and whatever it says to the viewer - it's the right message because there isn't a wrong and a right message. Each person takes something a little different from the same picture and I'm happy with that.
